*Two minor sisters were allegedly raped by their mother's lover at their house in outer Delhi's Shahbad Dairy, police said on Thursday. The accused has been arrested.*
Rakesh Mishra, 35, who hails from Uttar Pradesh's Kushinagar district, works as a mechanic.
He is married and has five children, but was involved in a relationship with the mother of the victims aged 13 and 11.
The victims' mother works as domestic servant.
Police said Rakesh had been living in the victims' house since last year, and had raped the girls several times over the past months.
The incident came to light after the elder sister narrated the ordeal to a neighbour on Wednesday.
"The neighbour approached police after which an investigation was taken up," a police officer said.
The girls were then taken for a medical examination at Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital, which confirmed sexual assault. "Rakesh was subsequently arrested," the officer added.
Two cases of rape were filed with Shahbad Dairy police station over the victims' statements and medical reports. Rakesh also faces charges of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The sisters told police that they did not reveal the assault to their mother as Rakesh threatened them with dire consequences. Reported by Deccan Herald 9 minutes ago.
