Pune: In yet another shocking incident, a school teacher allegedly molested a class IX student in Amboli village in Khed tehsil of Pune district. According to the Khed police, the accused identified as Pandurang Maruti Dohifale from Amboli village, just 110km from Pune. The family is reportedly missing since Sunday, when the incident came to light.
Speaking to dna, senior police inspector RV Ingawale of Khed police station said, "The teacher used to teach mathematics at the school. Daily, he used to commute from Khed to Amboli. For the last couple of months, he had been molesting the girl and even issued threats to her asking her to keep mum about the act. He also threatened to fail her in her internal examinations, if she objected and hence the girl did not inform her parents."
"It was only now that the girl gathered some courage and told her parents about the incident, who immediately informed the police," PI Ingawale added. Shockingly, she was not the only girl who was molested by Dohifale. There were four other girls in the same school who had refrained from informing their parents fearing social stigma.
"After registering this complaint, other girls who were molested by the teacher in the past, have come forward and now want to register an FIR against the teacher. As of now, we have not registered their complaints but we will register an FIR soon," said Ingawale.
"The teacher originally hails from Ahmednagar district and so we have sent our team there to nab him," informed Ingawale.
