BEIJING (Reuters) - China has broken up a gang that offered illegal services to determine the sex of unborn children so that women could abort those they did not want, the country's health ministry said on Sunday. Three decades of strict family planning have bolstered a traditional bias for male offspring, seen as the main support of elderly parents and heirs to the family name, and have resulted in abortions, killings or abandonment of girls and trafficking of both male and female children.
