*If there is one person who felt satisfied at the fall from grace of Tehelka's editor Tarun Tejpal, it was the former BJP president and Union minister Bangaru Laxman whom was disgraced by the magazine that showed him accepting Rs 1 lakh bribe. *
The leader from Andhra Pradesh, despite being treated at a Hyderabad hospital, made no attempt to conceal his glee over a Tehelka journalist's complaint of sexual misconduct by Tejpal that had sunk the journalist and writer.
"What a fall," Laxman mused from his hospital bed. "People who pretend to be righteous stoop down to such low levels, immoral methods and practise in the name of exposing corruption."
He said Tejpal had fallen into the grave he dug for others. "It is no secret that Tehelka has used girls in their so-called 'sting' operations. Tejpal sent a staff (journalist) to an army officer. They also used call girls in these so called sting operations," the 74-year-old dalit leader added.
*No special treatment*
Asked what punishment should be given to Tejpal, Laxman said the journalist cannot be treated differently from the self-style godman Asaram Bapu and his son Narayan Sai, arrested on rape charges.
"Nobody can hide under burqa longer," he said, adding that it is strange for Tejpal to seek atonement for his guilt. Reported by Deccan Herald 1 minute ago.
