*Shreyansh Jaiswal of Chattisgarh and Maharashtra's Rasika Raje clinched the under-19 boys' and girls' singles titles in the 12th Union Bank of India all-India junior ranking badminton tournament at the KBA courts on Saturday. *
Fifth-seeded Jaiswal registered a come-from-behind 18-21, 21-16, 21-17 victory over second seed Harsheel Dani of Air India in the boys' final while Rasika showed tremendous fighting spirit to eke out a 7-21, 21-17, 21-19 win over Air India's Reshma Karthik in the girls' summit clash.
Meanwhile, top seed Daniel S Farid of Karnataka claimed the under-17 boys' singles crown putting it past the testing Talar Laa of Air India 15-21, 21-18, 21-17 in the title decider.
In the boys' under-19 final, Dani and Jaiswal were engaged in an intense tussle in the first game with both players trading smashes and drop shots with effective results.
With the lead fluctuating, Dani held his nerve to take the game 21-18.
However, Jaiswal came roaring back into the match with the second game to rack up a five-point lead at 11-6 before closing it out at 21-16.
The Chattisgarh lad created angles out of nowhere to deliver some cracking smashes, entertaining the sizable crowd.
Jaiswal played out the third game in similar style as he played the big points better to wrap the tie at 21-17.
The under-19 girls' final started off on expected lines as Reshma pulled the strings with her eye-catching rallies and net-play to pocket the first game 21-7.
Rasika had other plans though as she exhibited great mental resolve and forced Reshma to play her own game with her deft touches and cleverly used drop shots to take the second game 21-17.
The third game went down to the wire as Rasika, who was comfortably placed to win at 20-13, dropped six match points facing stiff resistance from Reshma before sealing the deal at 21-19.
